Just Write!- Part III

By now, you are probably either very interested in learning more about web content writing or discouraged. Well for the first part, good for you. For the latter, please don’t be.

When it comes to web content writing, you don’t need to be really skillful, or talented for that matter, in writing. You don’t need to have high grades in grammar or literature in school. In the world of web content writing, all you need is a good internet connection, a working computer and your brain cells. That’s all there is to it aside from being computer literate. But then, you wouldn’t be reading this blog now if you weren’t.

Now, why isn’t the skill/ talent not included in the list? It’s because content writing is easier than what you actually think it is. In order for you to breeze in on this career, you need to know what it entails. You might need to have the writing talent, but hey! You need to know what the work entails, otherwise, you really will be struggling. This is where you need your brain the most. So what is the job description of a web content writer? Here are a few of them:

1. Write- Now this is the main job of a web content writer. With this, you have to be mindful of all the things that you learned in grade school when it comes to sentence and paragraph construction. Even if you do not need to have the talent and skill in commanding the written word, it doesn’t mean that you do not need to know the basics, too.

There are a lot of basics in writing that you learned in school. You don’t need to dig deep into your brain’s stock room for info, what you only need to remember are the 101s of sentence and paragraph construction. Not sure what these are? Try thinking along the lines of subject-verb agreement (your tenses, i.e. plural noun goes with a plural verb), correct spelling, right word usage, and flow of thought. Remember that in this kind of job, you earn money by letting and making people read and understand what you are writing about. If you have content with jumbled up Grammer and Sfilleng, you will be driving readers away. However, if in the first place you do not apply these when you write, nobody would hire you even in the early part.

2. Research- In this job, you are to whip up articles written by you. In order for you to do this, there are times that you need some information (especially if the topics are unfamiliar to you) from which you should build your articles with. There’s no need to run to the public library. You have the World Wide Web in front of you, so you might as well use it.

When you research for your articles, use the necessary word/ words to look for the information that you really need. In web content writing, this is called ‘keyword’/ ‘keywords’. For example is if you are being given the topic about the 10 most popular islands of the world, you just can’t search for info on ‘ popular islands’. In this case, you need to use the entire phrase in order to come up with the right set of information.

3.Advertise- A lot of newbie writers don’t know this or are oblivious to the fact that no matter what topic they are writing about, they are consequently advertising the website. It doesn’t matter if you are a travel writer, ghostwriter, technical writer, or writing a product review or description. The fact that you are writing content for a certain website automatically implies that what you are creating will be used to lure visitors to the site in which your article will be posted. This is also the reason why you need to really internalize the ‘Write’ job description. You are to advertise with the use of your write ups.

4. Website Traffic- Parallel and conjuct to the job of advertising, you should bear in mind that you are creating an article designed to increase traffic flow to the website. There are a lot of ways in which website owners and writers meet this demand but the most common ways are the use of SEO (Search Engine Optimization), high quality web content, and spinning articles.

To give you a brief run through of these three, as a (would be) writer you should know that:

* SEO makes use of words that are highly used by viewers to search for something in search engines. It can be a single word or phrase. As a writer, these words for SEO are supposed to be used in an article for a certain number of times as per direction of your client.

*High quality web content has an equally high criteria to meet. For the most part, you should know that a high quality web content must have the following:

1. Perfect grammar, spelling and word usage

2. Vital information or topic that a lot of people are interested in

3. Highly related to the website it is to be placed

* As for spinning articles, this is a method wherein an already crafted article is spun with the use of a downloaded software or submitted to a site that specializes in it. The outcome is an article or articles that is original in formal but basically has the same content as the one being spun. With the high demand in web content, this has gained increasing popularity lately.

So, you think you can meet what the job description is basically asking from a web content writer? There’s more to follow on this and talking about how you can be a web content writer.

Just Write!- Part II

Okay, so here is the Part II.

What sure fire way of making big money online am I talking about? I am talking about Web Content Writing. Before you go scrunch up your face and cuss the gods of writing, read first what good it brings you:

1. MONEY!

Of course, what did you think I was going to write first? With web content writing, you will never have to wait for your money to amount to a certain number in order for you to receive it. With web content writing, you will receive money the moment your client accepts your goods. Usually, you can receive the money within 24 hours.

When talking about web content writing and money, don’t picture out cents per click or something like that. Picture out amount per article. With web content writing, you can earn as much as $100 per article or even more. Of course, you have to be realistic enough to consider the fact that the pay is subject on the article’s degree of complexity.

2. You are your own boss

Web content writers enjoy one of the rare benefits of having to work at a time that’s convenient for them. No waking up at 7 am to report at 8 am. What’s more is that web content writers don’t have nasty officemates to deal with, nor wear appropriate clothes to go to work.

3. You always have the upper hand

Web content writers have the upper hand on deciding what articles to work on, whether they are receiving assignments for the day or not, fix their own deadlines, whether to go part time or full time, and can even work for as many clients as much as they want to.

4. Brain cell exercise

When you write articles, you are making your brain cells think. Thinking for them is exercise, and you know what exercise can do for you. Since you are exercising your brain to think, you are also warding off brain related diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease. See? With web content writing, not only are you making your pockets healthy, but your brain cells, too.

5. Builds your vocabulary

Of course, when you are writing something, you are technically using words. With this, you are bound to use words that you either haven’t used in a long time or know that they exist(but virtue of checking the dictionary or highlighting the words and right-clicked the mouse to search for the synonyms). Besides, as a web content writer, you need to use a lot of words, so knowing a lot of them is a big help in your career.

6. No capital needed

With web content writing, you don’t need anything else to get started. You don’t need money to put up the business. All you need is your brain, your writing skills, PC and a very good internet connection.

To get into the specifics of this gig, wait around for the part III of this posting series…

Just Write!- Part I

A lot of people seem to be getting into whatever gigs or gimiks that scream “EARN MONEY FAST”. Nobody can blame them. I mean, whoever does not want to earn extra cash without much of an effort?

When you take a closer look at things, there never is an easy way to earn money faster than Speed Racer could drive his car. No matter how advertisers try to reel you in on this advertising, it simply isn’t possible. Not online, not offline. You have to have hard work and determination to get the big bucks roll in. Ignore the “sit back and watch your money pour in” camapaign scheme. It is not plausible nor possible.

However, through my observation, readings and experience, I have to say that there is a way in which you can earn big money online. The catch is that you need to work for it. But, the biggest silver lining behind this is that you need not work as hard as you would do in, say, your downtown office .

This isn’t a trick, ladies and gentlemen. This is not one of those “I WILL TELL YOU WHAT I FOUND OUT FOR AS LOW AS $49.99″, with the runner, “HURRY WHILE THE OPPORTUNITY LASTS”. This is different. I will tell you about it and how you should go about it FREE OF CHARGE!

The reason why I’m giving out such info is because I’m tired of seeing numerous people get caught in scams in the search for making extra cash online. Even if I’m not one of them, I still don’t like the fact that others are getting schemed out of their moolahs. So, wait around for Part II of this How to Make Money Online series. Hey, a girl can only write so much in a day, you know. So bear with me.

From Blogger to WordPress… I’m No Rat!

Hmmm..Lemme see.. Just to break the ice, this is actually my very first post at WordPress. So what brought me to this blog hosting site? It’s all because of two things:

1. I got a bit frustrated with Blogger (Blogspot) since I couldn’t make categories with my blog.  I can’t believe I actually spent like 3 days just to see how I could make categories. I mean as a blogger, I know how categories and tags are important just to make my readers’ life easy and to increase my blog’s popularity. I searched the ’settings’ tab and frankly speaking, searched the entire Blogger inside out just to see where can I make my categories. No matter what I do, I finally conceded to defeat! I finally accepted the fact that to Blogger’s vocabulary, ‘categories’ equates to ‘labels’. Ahuh! And how can I make tags? That is still what I have yet to find out.

and

2. I just want to give WordPress a try. Hello! After reading blog after blog (not to mention the reviews which were all awesome!) about it, I just have to give this a try. Looks like I’ll be doing more than just ‘try’! WordPress allows me to do pretty much everything that I was able to do at Blogger plus much more. * Hint: look to the right side of this blog page… hehehe

As my Loyal genes would have it, I still won’t trade my Blogger account over WordPress. Nor vice versa. They’re both great- in their own bloggity way! I love both of them ( once cheesy moment here!) because they allow me to do two main things:

1. Express Myself and Connect With You

and

2. Make Money (?)

Well, what else can I say? Stay tuned for more updates! Ciao!
